PICK OF THE DAY
Chelsea - West Hem
Tip : GG (both to score)
Odd : 2.10
FT : 1:1 WIN!!!
A year ago Chelsea were strolling towards the Premier League title
after an excellent debut campaign from Antonio Conte, but 12 months
later and things look very different at Stamford Bridge.
The hosts
sit outside the Premier League top four, some eight points adrift of
Spurs after their dismal loss to them last weekend. They are out of the
Champions League too, so their only hope of silverware this season comes
in the form of their ongoing FA Cup campaign. To add insult to injury
their is talk of a mass player exodus, along with an increasingly
uncertain situation with the manager.
Last weekend’s 3-1 defeat at
home to Spurs made it two wins from Chelsea’s last seven competitive
games, and looking at their Premier League form alone doesn’t make
matters any better. They have won two and lost five of their last seven
league outings, although the majority of their failures have come away
from home to be fair.
At Stamford Bridge, The Blues have won nine
of their last 12 league matches, losing against Bournemouth and Spurs
during that period. The defensive stability that characterised their
title winning season last year seems to have vanished, with them
conceding seven goals in their last four home league games.
West Ham will be hoping to take advantage of that, especially coming
into the game on the back of a 3-0 battering of Southampton. This was a
desperately needed victory after their shambles against Burnley, but
they’re certainly not out of the woods yet. They are still only five
points above the relegation zone and have games against Chelsea,
Arsenal, Manchester United, and Manchester City to come.
Away from
home The Hammers have lost three league games in a row though. This is
all down to their cataclysmic defence, which has conceded a league high
37 goals on the road this season. They have kept just two clean sheets
away from home all season, although recently have upped their attacking
game by scoring in each of their last eight.
This, combined with
Chelsea’s rather fragile back line at the moment, makes Both Teams to
Score look a great value bet. We’re backing that here, along with a 2-1
win for Chelsea.
